Southern Railway has decided that from January 10, only those passengers will be allowed to travel in Chennai region who have taken both doses of the vaccine.

Significantly, the cases of coronavirus infection are increasing very fast in Tamil Nadu, in view of which the Tamil Nadu government has imposed several restrictions from January 6, after which suburban train services are running with 50 percent seating capacity. Now only fully immunized passengers will be allowed to travel in suburban trains.
DRM of Southern Railway has tweeted a press release in which an order related to this has been issued. The press release said that from 4 am on January 10 to January 31, only passengers holding a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination will be allowed to travel in suburban trains. It has been said in the instructions that the passengers will have to produce their vaccination certificate while taking the ticket at the counter along with valid identity proof.
Southern Railway has appealed to the passengers to follow the corona protocol and wear masks. Wash hands at regular intervals at the station and wash hands before boarding the train. Those violating the rules will have to pay a fine of Rs 500, this warning has been issued.
Today 12,895 new cases of corona infection have been reported in Tamil Nadu and 12 people have died. With these cases, the number of active cases of corona in the state has gone up to 51,335. Today a total of 1,808 people have also become healthy.
