In the Under 19 World Cup 2022 (ICC Under 19 World Cup 2022), Raj Bawa, who played a big role in making India the world champion, was showered with money in the IPL mega auction. He was added to their team by Punjab Kings by bidding the highest.

Raj Bawa performed all-rounder in the final match of the Under 19 World Cup 2022. In the final match against England, Raj Bawa took 5 wickets for 31 runs in 9.5 overs. While in batting, he had scored 2 fours and a six in 54 balls. Raj Bawa was given the man of the match for his brilliant performance. Apart from this, he also scored a century against Uganda in the third group league match of the World Cup. He played an unbeaten inning of 162 runs in 108 balls. In which he scored 14 fours and 8 sixes. Raj Bawa scored 252 runs in the World Cup in 5 innings of 6 matches with the help of 1 century.

Bawa's grandfather has also played for India

Raj Bawa's grandfather Tarlochan Bawa was a member of the Indian hockey team. Who won the gold medal in the 1948 Olympics in the United Kingdom. Tarlochan scored two goals against Great Britain in the final. In that match, India defeated Great Britain 4-0. It was the first victory of independent India and the first gold in the Olympics.
