Voting is underway for the Punjab Assembly elections and in the meantime, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, brother of Moga Assembly seat candidate Malvika Sood, was stopped by the Election Commission from entering a polling booth and his car was also confiscated.

Significantly, Sonu Sood's sister is contesting from Moga assembly seat as a Congress candidate. He had joined Congress a few days before the election. At the same time, Sonu Sood said in this regard that we got information about threatening calls from the opposition especially the people of Akali Dal at various booths. 49.81 percent polling till 3 pm in Punjab

It is worth noting that voting is still going on for the Punjab Assembly elections. Till 3 pm, 34.10 per cent voters have exercised their right to vote. Voting is going on in 117 assembly seats in the state amid tight security.

Voting till 6 pm

Voting began at 8 am this morning, which will continue till 6 pm. A total of 1,304 candidates are in the fray, including 93 women and two transgenders. In the state, 2,14,99,804 voters including 1,02,00,996 women will be able to exercise their franchise. Counting of votes is scheduled for March 10.
