Dilip Joshi is playing the character of Jethalal Champaklal Gada in the highly successful show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' since 2008. The love of the audience towards the show is that the show remains shadow in the TRP list. However, Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal revealed in the year 2020 that the writing of the show suffered at times as he felt that some episodes were not up to the mark 'as far as humour is concerned'.
Writers are pressured
Speaking to comedian Saurabh Pant in a podcast, Dilip Joshi had said that, as writers are pressured to deliver episodes every day, the quality of the content suffers. He had said, "When you look at quantity, there is a quality journey somewhere. We used to do it in the first week and the writers had a lot of time. Wrote four episodes, the second episode has to be shot for the next four months.
has become like a factory
He continued, "Right now it is almost like a factory. Every day writers have to find new subjects. After all they are also human beings. I agree that all episodes cannot be of the same. When you have been there for so long. Doing a daily show. I think some episodes are not right as far as the humor is concerned."
Jethalal had said this on the matter of leaving the show
Even before this, the news of Jethalal leaving the show went viral on social media. In an interview a few months back, Dilip Joshi had said, "My show is a comedy show and it is fun to be a part of it. So as long as I enjoy it, I will keep doing it. The day I feel like it. I'm not enjoying it anymore, I'll move on."

'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has been entertaining the audience for the last 13 years. The telecast of the show started on 28 July 2008. It is the longest running Indian sitcom. The show has achieved many achievements in the past. The show has successfully completed 3000 episodes. Being the longest running show on TV, the show has soon entered the Guinness Book of World Records.
