Heavy rains and thundershowers have been battering parts of Madhya Pradesh, especially Bhopal. The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert in Jabalpur, Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions over the next 24 hours. An orange alert was also sounded in Indore, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions of the state as well.
According to the weather department, rain with thunderstorms are expected in isolated areas of the state.

As per the IMD, the depression over East Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during the next 12 hours.
This will trigger widespread rain over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and the adjoining areas, with more rain expected in East and West Madhya Pradesh.
SCHOOL SHUT IN BHOPAL
All the schools in Bhopal and Narmadapuram have been asked to remain closed amid heavy rainfall.
Bhopal Collector Avinash Lavania declared a holiday on Tuesday in all schools in view of excessive rain. All government, non-government, Navodaya CBSE affiliated primary, secondary high schools, higher secondary schools, have been granted a holiday.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the situation arising out of incessant rainfall in the state.
