UPSC, COVID-19: There is big news for those UPSC aspirants who were deprived of the UPSC main exam due to Kovid. The Supreme Court has given instructions to reconsider such candidates on Thursday i.e. today. According to reports, the Supreme Court directed the concerned authorities to reconsider the UPSC aspirants who missed the mains exam due to COVID-19 infection and could not appear. Along with this, orders have also been given to take a decision on it within two weeks. Let us inform that three UPSC candidates had filed a petition regarding this.

According to news agency ANI, a bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar directed the authorities concerned to reconsider the representation of students who have been denied an attempt in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination due to COVID-19. The bench has directed the officials to take a decision on the matter within two weeks in light of the March 2022 parliamentary committee report. Let us tell you that UPSC aspirants had demanded extra effort in their petition. During the hearing, the Supreme Court gave its decision.

Let us tell you that advocate Shashank Singh had filed a petition on behalf of three UPSC candidates regarding this. The petitioner states that they are entitled to compensatory effort for the lapse in their last attempt due to COVID-19. Candidates say that they have cleared the UPSC 2021 Preliminary Examination and are eligible to appear in the Main Examination. The main examination was held from 7 to 16 January 2022. The petitioners claim that they could not appear in the UPSC Mains exam due to COVID-19 infection and strict restrictions on COVID.
