Children Vaccination in India: In order to reduce infant mortality and protect them from diseases, a large-scale vaccination drive of children is conducted around the world. The Government of India runs the Indradhanush program. Many states implemented the vaccination campaign effectively, while many states may not yet understand its importance.

100% vaccination of children in only four states

This is the reason why 100 percent vaccination has been possible in only four states of the country. Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep are the two union territories that have achieved this goal. The national capital Delhi could not achieve the target of 100% vaccination.

NITI Aayog published report

NITI Aayog has published a report related to health. It has been told that in Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala (Kerala), Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Pradesh), Manipur (Manipur) and Mizoram, 100% children have been vaccinated. In Odisha, less than 60 per cent of the children were vaccinated. In Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Bihar, less than 90 percent of children have been vaccinated.

90% of children vaccinated in 10 states

There are 10 states in India where 90% or more children have been vaccinated. Odisha, Nagaland and Daman and Diu are among the states with the least number of children vaccinated. In these states and union territories, only 52.8 to 59.8 percent children have been vaccinated.

Vaccination decline in many states

It is a matter of great concern that during the year 2015-16 to the year 2017-18, many states have seen a decline in the matter of immunization of children. Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Daman and Diu are included in such states and union territories. There has been a decline of 15 points in vaccination here.
