According to the guidelines of the government, only 50 people will be allowed to attend the wedding and 20 people will be allowed to attend the funeral. Sources said that in the last one week, corona cases have increased in the entire state including the metropolis. The city of Kolkata has the highest number of corona infections.
Hearing in High Court from today only through a virtual medium
The main benches of the High Court, the circuit benches at Jalpaiguri and Port Blair, will hear only through virtual medium till further orders. This rule will be applicable from January 3, 2022. On Saturday, on the recommendation of its Covid Control Committee, the Registrar General had issued a notification saying that all court proceedings would be held only in virtual mode. In matters relating to bail only, the PP and the APP shall submit the summary of the case diary to the ACO through the PP office for placing before the Court.
If the Bench requires a physical presentation of the case diary, the PP may be directed to do the necessary work. The notification also states that the Registrar General/Registrar (Original Party) shall regulate the attendance of employees by rotation so that the attendance does not exceed 66% or two-thirds on any given day. Apart from this, the Registrar is also directed to ensure that the entire staff is assigned duties on a rotational basis. The same rule will be applicable in all the district courts of the state.
