The Government of Haryana has given a big relief to the vegetables and fruit vendors. Agriculture Minister of the state has said that now the fruit and vegetable vendors in the mandis in the state will not have to pay the market fee. One percent market fee and one percent HRDF fee will be waived by the Haryana government. At the same time, let us tell you that in the past, the government had announced to give one percent rebate in market fee to small traders as well.
The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had approved a proposal. A government spokesperson had said that the government would make necessary amendments in the Haryana Agricultural Produce Market (General) Rules, 1962. However, to avail of the exemption, small traders will have to submit the last annual return to the market committee at the end of the financial year. In which it is shown that the sale or total annual turnover of agricultural produce during the previous year was less than Rs.5 lakh. Only after which this refund can be claimed. After which the fee up to one percent will be refunded.
According to reports, the Chief Minister has also given the approval to amend Rule 17 of the provisions of the Haryana Agricultural Produce Market (General) Rules, 1962. In which the criteria have been set for getting a category (III) license, whereas, now after the amendment, the limit for getting a category (III) license has been fixed from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Apart from this, the Haryana government is also running a scheme to help small traders under the name of Chief Minister Traders Compensation Insurance, under which insurance cover is given according to the annual turnover .
